Intervención psicológica para la detección y manejo de estilos atribucionales en dos deportes de motor: rally de automóviles y karting competitivo

Abstract

Traditionally, Sport Psychology has promoted the idea that athletes must attribute their performances to internal causes to facilitate their involvement in the sport in question. This study provides an exploratory view of the attributional style predominating in a sample of 22 athletes who practice two motor disciplines. The results indicate the prevalence of an external style of attribution in successful sports situations as well as in unsuccessful situations. This paper also provides a description of the main causes of good performance that were identified as well as several intervention suggestions, beginning with the real influence of external factors on an athlete's performance, considering the specific characteristics of these kind of disciplines
