Relation between the anxiety and performance of an team of basketball during the competition

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to know the trait and the state of anxiety in a players' sample of basketball, and changeable these related with his efficiency in competition, beside comparing the anxiety been in two games with rivals with different performances. The sample there was composed by 10 players of an team of basketball to the Spanish League of Basketball Amateur (E.B.A.). The used material was the questionnaire State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-S (STAI-S) for the evaluation of the anxiety trait and anxiety been. Performance of the players was measured, in two games, with some of the official statistics of the FEB (total valuation, sum of points, rebounds, received mistakes, recovered balls and assistances; and the subtraction of mistaken shots, committed lacks, lost balls), you are absent committed, percentage of shots of two points, of three and of free shots, and obtained points. The results showed positive correlation between pre-competitive state anxiety and lost balls and negative correlation between pre-competitive state anxiety and percentage of shots of two points. The pre-competitive state anxiety was major when the rival has a major competitive level.
